A meditation on process. PIECES is a limited-edition series over a year in the making: an exploration of patchwork and collage, both as material and as metaphor. Each work captures the raw immediacy of chance, spontaneity harnessed as an embodiment of a fleeting moment - stitched into permanence. Each style in the collection has been crafted in no more than eight unique variations, with no two ever the same, meaning, when you own this PIECE, you will be the holder of the sole version of that PIECE.
From instinctively collaged handbags to belts fastened with storied Italian buckles, striking cardholders, and impossibly intricate, time-thirsty fragments of jewellery - PIECES is a collection of tactile artefacts that carry the energy of dreams, spirit, and imagination. It is design, practiced through ritual, intuition and led by the spirit.

Designed and handcrafted in The Lair Studio, Newcastle, the Gwen Collage Handbag is a structured trapezoidal silhouette in Italian leather and suede. Its vertical collaged front panel is a one-off composition - strips of leather and suede in moody shades of blue, brown, black, and red, arranged as an intentional study in colour. Each palette is unique, created to either mirror the wearer’s mood or set it in motion. The reverse, cut in solid black leather, provides contrast and grounding. A chunky adjustable strap with dual buckle detailing at each side anchors the form, while a three-dimensional leather tag on the front carries The Lair and PIECES insignia. The interior holds an extra internal slip pocket and an external zip pocket on the back, balancing minimal design with daily function. A chunky split ring allows clasping any add-ons with ease, such as your phone, wallet or drinkbottle - an everyday piece elevated by collage.
